Foxwood Diesel apprentice, Leigh Worsdale has scooped another apprentice award.
Only a month after being named as Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) Training Centre’s ‘Apprentice of the Year, Leigh has been named as the Chesterfield Apprentice of the Year at the first North Midlands and South Yorkshire (NMSY) Apprenticeship Awards on Wednesday 16 May.
Organised by Johnston Press, the awards recognised apprentices and employers throughout Sheffield, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Doncaster and Mansfield. Leigh was presented with her award by the Deputy Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, Councillor Amanda Serjeant.
Held at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield, guests were treated to popcorn and ice cream whilst the winners of the 14 categories were announced by host Frances Bishop, a finalist in the 2016 series of The Apprentice on BBC One.
Leigh commented: “It feels wonderful to be recognised for my performance at the company, once again. I’m shocked to have won the award as there are so many great apprentices in and around Chesterfield.
When I’m at work I try to make as much positive impact as I can, whilst learning from my peers and putting in place things that makes the business more effective. It’s great that my work has not gone unnoticed outside Foxwood Diesel.
