Three of Foxwood Diesel’s workshop team are taking pride of place in NLT Training Services' brand new engineering apprenticeships brochure.
Workshop Supervisor Matt Jamson, apprentice Casey Allen and former employee Josh Matthews, have all been profiled in the new brochure, hoping to inspire the next generation of mechanical engineers to enter the profession.
I am honoured that members of the Foxwood Diesel workshop team have been profiled in the new apprentice brochure. We take investment in training and development very seriously here as we want the team to be the best they can and have a long career with us and in the industry.
Ken Worsdale, owner of Foxwood Diesel
As well as Casey, Matt and Josh also began their careers as apprentices with Foxwood Diesel, undertaking additional training at NLT’s specialist training centre in Brimington Chesterfield as part of their Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
Casey, Josh and Matt are highlighted as success stories in the new brochure, inspiring the next generation of apprentices to enrol at the specialist engineering training provider.
Matt, who has been with Foxwood Diesel since 2000, is now an NVQ assessor after completing his A1 Assessors Training with NLT last year. More than 80% of Foxwood Diesel’s specialist team began their careers as apprentices with the business and Matt’s role within the company ensures that all staff continue to develop professionally to the highest standards.
Josh left Foxwood earlier this year after seven years with the company to take up his dream job with a motorsport company. He is now travelling the world with Gibson Technology working on engines in cars that race in formula 3000 A1GP.
Level 3 apprentice Casey, also known as the Turbo Queen due to her love of refurbishing turbo engines, has already been named one of the top engineering and construction apprentices in the country, narrowly missing out on the overall winner title to a Level 4 Engineering apprentice. She was put forward for the award by NLT Training Services.
Andy Sheppard, CEO of NLT Training Services, said: “Casey’s enthusiasm for engineering is infectious, matched only by her performance both in our training centre and at Foxwood Diesel. She is an outstanding student who ticks every single box and we are delighted that she has been recognised at such a high level. She is a credit to apprentices and the engineering profession.”
The new brochures are now being distributed at schools and careers fairs throughout North East Derbyshire and North Lincolnshire where NLT provides training at its centre in Chesterfield and Scunthorpe.
