Case Study: Bringing 18 Reconditioned Mercedes-Benz V6 Engines Back to Life
18 Mercedes-Benz V6 OM501 diesel engines have been completely reconditioned for a private customer by the Foxwood Diesel workshop team based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

The Challenge
A private customer visited our reconditioner workshop team here at Foxwood Diesel, seeking a solution to restore 18 Mercedes-Benz V6 OM501 diesel engines that had experienced significant wear and tear, which was slowing down their performance.
These Mercedes engines required reconditioning to ensure their reliability and performance for continued use. Fortunately, they found us, who had the expertise and resources to handle such a specialised project.
Restoring the Mercedes-Benz V6 Engines
The engines were delivered to Foxwood Diesel’s Chesterfield workshop from overseas and underwent a comprehensive refurbishment to restore them to full working order, utilising Mercedes replacement parts.
Each engine has been meticulously machined, assembled and cleaned to as-new factory standards at the Foxwood Diesel workshop. The reconditioning of the used Mercedes-Benz engines followed this process:
Things kicked off with the engines being completely disassembled in the workshop
Wear parts, such as bearing shells, pistons and bushings, were replaced with new parts
All other parts underwent quality and functional tests. All parts had to meet the same strict standards as new ones
Once the refurbishment was complete, every Mercedes-Benz V6 reconditioned engine corresponded to the stock condition of a new engine
The Result: Shiny, New V6 Mercedes-Benz Engines
Following the thorough reconditioning process, the 18 Mercedes-Benz V6 OM501 refurbished engines were successfully restored to their full operational capabilities. The customer received a range of fully functional engines, each boasting a 12-month guarantee and tested and certified to perform as new.
The project was completed within the specified timeline, with all 18 Mercedes V6 engines ready for use in their respective applications.
In terms of quality, a Mercedes-Benz reconditioned engine is identical to a new engine, which is why we are more than happy to give a 12-month guarantee with every engine we refurbish. You make a significant cost saving having an engine reconditioned compared to buying new, which makes them a popular choice for dealers and owners.
