Warranty Policy
All service exchange reconditioned engines come with a 12-month warranty unless stated otherwise on the invoice. To activate the warranty, the customer must complete the warranty registration form within 28 days of the invoice date. Failure to register within this period will void any future warranty claims. During the warranty period, Foxwood Diesel will rectify any defects free of charge, provided the defect results from mismatching or assembly errors, and the following conditions are met:
● Components supplied by the customer are assumed to be free from inherent defects that would not typically be revealed through standard, commercially acceptable non-destructive testing.
● The defect is not due to misuse, neglect, accidents, racing, modifications, or unauthorised repairs. Any repairs must either be carried out by Foxwood Diesel or by an authorised party with written consent from Foxwood Diesel.
● The defect must be reported as soon as practicable, and the engine or component must be made available to Foxwood Diesel (or an approved third party) for examination and repair before any attempts at fixing it and without further deterioration of the engine or component.
● Foxwood will endeavour to rectify any warranty claims at the customers site/ premises.
● If, for any reason, any engine fault cannot be diagnosed or repaired on-site, the invoiced item(s) will need to be removed. Foxwood will then arrange for the collection of the item(s) to facilitate further investigation and repairs.
● Our warranty does not cover any additional labour, including the removal and refitting of the engine/item(s), unless specifically stated on the customer's invoice
● If the engine or component is repaired by Foxwood Diesel or an agreed third party, and Foxwood Diesel has provided written authorization, the warranty will continue to apply.
● In case of disputes between the customer and Foxwood Diesel regarding the extent of work covered under this warranty, the matter can be resolved using the FER's complaints and arbitration services. Any extra costs incurred during this process will be shared by both parties.
Foxwood Diesel is not responsible for any repair costs or parts supplied before liability is established. If a site visit is made and the fault is found not to be related to Foxwood Diesel's work, the customer will be charged for travel and labour.
Please note that our warranty policy requires the customer to maintain and service the engine in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure the warranty remains valid. If a warranty claim is made and our engineers attend but determine that the issue is unrelated to Foxwood Diesel's work, the customer will be liable for a call-out charge of £100, plus £75 per hour on site. If the call-out is cancelled without at least 24 hours' notice, a cancellation fee of £50 will apply.
No variations or modifications to this warranty are valid unless agreed in writing. If a claim for excessive oil consumption is made during the warranty period, the customer must provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate that oil consumption exceeds manufacturer standards and that the appropriate oil was used.
The customer must adhere to the "Break-In" Procedures for Remanufactured Engines and follow the Engine Installation Procedures provided with the engine. If these documents are not provided, the customer should request them, as proper installation and break-in are critical.
The customer must maintain and service the engine according to the manufacturer's or manufacturers recommendations throughout the warranty period. Any unauthorised investigations or repairs by the customer or a third party may void the warranty.
This warranty overrides other contractual agreements but does not affect the customer's statutory rights.
